| Hudsonian Dunlin? Bill can only be described as massive (compare with the curlew sand and the normal dunlin), solid pectoral band, relatively large dark loral smudge, advanced state of moult (almost completed partial moult into first-winter- dark smudges on the lower underparts are juvenile feathers as are a few upperpart feathers and all wing feathers). Note that it is only 22 september, the scilly bird was on 29 october! |
