Geir have a look here (from page 88) since then there have been two other very twitchable records in the Netherlands.

I’ve seen that paper Max. The bird just gave me a déjà vu to a Swedish Thick-billed Murre claim a few years ago.

Oef, so that is a Razorbill? I was committee member at that time. The acceptance tool a long time.

From the shape of the bill alone it seems pretty obvious to me that the Swedish bird is a Razorbill. The Dutch bird is very different (not saying it's an easy determination though). You might be interested to have a look at Dutchavifauna.nl and get a bit more insight into why birds were accepted on the Dutch list.

@Lennart: have you done some of your magic photo editing? For me the shape of the bill is impossible to assess on the photo of the Swedish bird. From what I can see, either something dark in the background merges with the bill, or this must be a new species to science. If so, I suggest the name Parrot-billed Murre ;-)
The tail however appears to be long, clinching it as a Razorbill.

@Vincent, I was mainly looking at the upper part of the bill. To me it seemed like the quite sharp upwards curve of the bill from the base of the bill could fit Razorbill, but never Thick-billed Murre. But it is not a very clear picture of course.

As for the record the Dutch bird is probably a genuine one (being an accepted record); it is to be assumed that the observers saw the details in the all-important head and bill pattern.
As for the picture in isolation (with no offence to the observers) I would say it is not possible to identify.
During my involvement with a review of the Swede I learned that claiming an out-of-range fly-by Thick-billed Murre is risky business.
